For Sale: Porsche 928 GTS Recreation - £ SORRY NOW SOLD
Here from cmsporsche.co.uk we have pleasure in offering this Very Interesting Winter Project which we found tucked away in an old barn. We are offering a Gorgeous and iconic 4.5L V8 Porsche 928 For Sale. The Sale for this Collectable 1978 Porsche 928, includes the Private Plate and is a full GTS Replica finished in Speed Yellow. It is available from us with its V5, Experian HPI Report and many old MOT's, Receipts and Service History all dating back to around 1983. It has covered only 166K Miles, so a Bargain Project for a component DIY'er or Porsche Mechanic or Enthusiast.
It was built and customised back in the 1990's at a considerably high Cost to transform it and update it to replicate a hugely desirable, Final Edition, Porsche 928 GTS. This means it Benfits from all of the Body Modifications and Updates, Including: GTS Wide Flared Front and Rear Wings, Wide Bumpers, Bootlid and Spoiler, Cup Wheels, Cup Mirrors, Facelifted Lights etc etc.
Aswell as the GTS Transformation back in the 90's, it has had many other High Cost updates to make it the Fantastic Car that it is!! One of these is a costly Custom Stainless Steel Sports Exhaust, which sounds absolute Stunning. Another one of its costly Updates is a complete Re-Trim throughout, using the Later Style Seating to give it a Fresh, New and Unique Look using Black and Yellow Leather.
Body Work Condition:
Although Not Perfect, it has quite respectable Body Work for a 38 Year Old Car as can be seen in the pictures and the 17" Cup Alloys are in a very good condition with no visible Kerbing Damage or Corrosion.
However, the paint has faded over the years, which is understanable for a car of this age, and it also has a few smaller age related blemishes/marks and chippings etc, so it would benefit from an Expensive T-CUT and POLISH at the least, and some future bodywork with some paint repairs would be beneficial, if you wish to dramatically increase its value and make it totally mint, ie to look as good as new.
Interior Condition:
Surprisingly very good for its age, and obviously having had the past benefits of being extensively and also rather expensively re-trimmed as part of the previous GTS Conversion has massively helped. Also, it has more recently had new floor carpets fitted, so excluding some small age related wear, it is only in need of a good valet and some gentle TLC to help it interior wise, become a lovely example of a Classic Porsche.
Mechanical Condition:
It Started and Drove first time off the key. The Engine sounds rather sweet, and although we haven't thoroughly checked or inspected it to date, the only obvious faults noticed are a bad leak from a power steering oil pipe and as per normal on an Old Porsche, a few minor non-working electrical fittings (Slow Passenger Window, Central Locking and Sticking Headlights).
With the mass of previous receipts and history seeming to show a good maintenance history when it was road-worthy, it should be quite straightforward to recommission back to road use, but obviously the buyer will need to rigorously and thoroughly inspect it, service it, check tyres etc and do any other repairs it may need to comply with all of the UK's MOT Laws etc, Before it is used on UK roads.
LIKE ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH A CLASSIC SPORTS CAR BRAND, THEY'RE RISING CONSIDERABLY IN PRICE, SO THIS MAY EVEN BE A VERY GOOD AND STRONG INVESTMENT.
